For my money, there is no greater chocolate cupcake experience than these chocolate pound cake cupcakes.
When all is right with the world, I usually like to celebrate with something bubbly. That can either be La Croix or Prosecco, depending on the time of day. 🙂 But when things aren’t shiny or I’m feeling a little under the weather, my go-to 99% of the time is going to be chocolate. The last 1% is reserved for red wine. Ok, 1% is way too slim, but this is a cupcake blog so let’s move on. Chocolate isn’t just for the mulligrubs though. It’s for every part of life, which is why these chocolate pound cake cupcakes are going to be your new best friends.
When I want chocolate, I want it to be silky & rich, well-balanced, and intense without being overpowering or assaulting. Basically, I want these moist chocolate pound cake cupcakes. Because HOLY. COW. you guys. They are nothing short of perfection. It’s the ultimate for balanced chocolate flavor and exquisite texture. I haven’t come across a lot of cupcake recipes for chocolate pound cake, and I really don’t understand why. These are truly my favorite chocolate cupcakes ever. I find many chocolate pound cake recipes to be dry and lacking in deep, chocolate flavor. That’s why I developed this recipe. It hits all the right notes for chocolate lovers everywhere, and it can even make dark chocolate lovers & milk chocolate lovers be BFFs for a minute.
Chocolate cream cheese pound cake, you guys. In cupcake form!
It starts off with my basic pound cupcake recipe that includes cream cheese, and things only get better by using a mix of dark and regular cocoa powders. You can even throw in some chocolate chips if you feel like reaching chocolate nirvana. I usually finish them off with a simple spread of dark chocolate ganache made with Green & Blacks’s 70% dark chocolate, my favorite chocolate bar. Listen, if you know what’s good for you you’ll hide a few of these chocolate pound cake cupcakes before serving them. Because there won’t be any of these babies left, trust me.
